Direct Port Delivery (DPD)
This is the initiative of custom under ease of doing scheme. In this facility importer can take the delivery directly from the port.
Purpose
1) To Promote Ease Of Doing Business.
2) To deliver containers directly from JNPT Port to Importers factory or warehouse.
3) To Reduce dwell time in clearance of goods and faster movement for final destination delivery.
4) To reduce handling expenses ( CFS Cost ).
Benefits in DPD
- Faster & Easier Customs Clearance
- Reduction in transit time to reach final destination.
- CFS Costs Nil.
Eligibility Criteria
- Importers with clear records of compliance.
- Facility will be provided to consignments which have either fully facilitated through RMS or not subjected to examination
Not eligible to DPD
- Importers facing cases of miss-declaration of description of goods or concealment or diversion of imported goods or evasion of duty in preceding five years
- Importers facing prosecution proceedings in any matter under the Customs Act, 1962
- Imported Goods that are subjected to 100% examination in terms of extant policy
- Importers importing LCL consignment
Another facility DPD/CFS in which importer can select his nominated CFS for custom examination of their cargo, it means the importers container will bring to nominated CFS and from their after custom out of charge importer can take their container to their factory or warehouses.
Benefit in this process is Reduction of CFS cost almost 50%.
